Airlines are shedding heavy and expensive IFE (Inflight Entertainment) equipment for iPads loaded with media, with inflight wifi connected iPads coming soon.
This could make IFE companies like Panasonic Avionics, Thales, and Rockwell Collins all feel the pinch to move their heavy IFE equipment to a more light iPad centric media distribution system using in-flight wifi.
